Bärbel Bühler was born in Stuttgart and studied oboe at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin with Prof. Birgit Schmieder and with Prof.Ingo Goritzki at the Hochschule für Musik Stuttgart. Between 1996 and 2015 she was engaged as the Principal Oboist of the Brandenburger Symphoniker at the Brandenburg Theater. Since 2013, she has been working as a freelance and has been a guest in orchestras including the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester Hamburg and the Münchner Philharmonikern . She is a founding member of the Berlin Oboe Quartet and has performed in various formations in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Since 2013, Bärbel Bühler has also devoted herself to the therapeutic effects of music and works as a Gestalt Therapist in Berlin.
